A more updated story .....
Fair to say, most of us don't skate anymore, a mix of alcohol, women, university and british weather can take the blame for this, I refuse to believe it's because we are probably the laziest people you are ever likely to meet. So, the idea of starting the site, and I quote from what I wrote last time :
We are a bunch of useless skateboarders
without jobs who are trying to figure out ways to make
money (lots of money) without doing any work. The website
is the first step .... along a long road, and since we
are all pretty lazy aswell, this dream of being rich and
skateboarding all day probably isn't going to happen.
I would say this is no longer true, although if you want to make us rich, by all means get in touch and I can let you know where to send the cheque. The core group of eryc (the "group of guys" that started the site) are pretty much still together, we've had some causalities along the way, some took the dark path to pills and cars with flashing lights, other's got married (not literally.... yet).
As of September, we will all be spread all over the country with a chunk of the group off to different universities. So the site is an awesome, and cheap, way to keep in touch.
What is eryc . . .
eryc is now, I would say, about keeping in touch and having a good old giggle at the expense of others. We will obviously still use our "skateboarding knowledge" to help others if needs be, and it can serve as a great meeting place for others wanting too, or already, skating on whichever weapon of choice they choose. But overall, it's a friendly (ish) place to come in, learn, have a laugh, take the mick, and maybe meet up for a session with some of the other boys and girls you can find roaming the kingdom of eryc.
Oh, and eryc is also a drug, otherwise known as erythromycin. Erythromycin is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections, such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, whooping cough, Legionnaire's disease, chlamydia, gonorrhea, skin infections, and others. Now you know...
About the name . . .
eryc, wierd name, yep, I bought this name a long time
ago thinking it was going to be worth something one day,
I soon realised I was wrong, and left it alone. Then we
decided it's time to build a website, so we can show pictures
of our terrible skating, keep in touch on the forums,
and make everyone else jealous. And that's about it, after
building the site I remembered about the name eryc, and
used it ... the rest as they say, is history.
