Tickets are being sold to secondary schools all next week for a fiver. Because the event is being run from grant money, they need this event to help raise money for the actual park. Tickets left over after this school week are going to be sold at game on, seaweed and hot n glassy. Only 500 people per day allowed...1000 in total over the 2 days. This is going to be awesome!
This event (and all following events) are not only intended to raise money but they intend to grab the attention of the coucil and demonstrate the NEED for a skatepark here. If they sell out on tickets and they still get people writing to the council, complaining that their son couldnt go cus of lack of tickets, that will eventually force the coucil to do something.
Also, three of the main construction managers (or something of that nature) will be there and we get to vote for the best park design for here. The HSA are attempting to get planning permission for building a skate park on that football field at the end of the bypass, just before cabria house. But since they havent been unanimously granted planning permission it MIGHT not be put there...but something is gonna happen within the next year or two...for sure!
