most ppl, like me start off just by riding around with easy stuff, watching pros flippin bigspins and almost peeing themselves with glee. then they start with ollies, getting better with practice, (well most of the time) then come easier stuff like shuvits etc....nd then comes the first complicated basic trick, yeah you know its the kickflip, or heelflip
then they learn whatever the fudge they like lol. The most recent triicks i have (almost) got down l8ly are the 50-50 saran wrap around (i can get into one easily but then fall off, if i cheat by just hopping straight onto it i can do the wrap around itself but can hardly ever land it ) um almost got heelflips and kickflips, and the fingerflip
and one last thing could sum 1 tell me whats the difference between a caveman and an acid drop in? my thingy majiggy is skatemate666@hotmail.com

I can land Fingerflips in tail stop position (if that's what you call it). I'm working on my own little combo now - Switch Foot Pogo to Saran Wrap to Pogo.
I think my kickflip's are slightly improving , but me Heelflips are poo poo.

well since I got one all my girly friends want to have a go and spend more time with me, so I think Holden your onto something bout them being sexy.
Longboards have so much more control when speeding around they arent scary going down big hills.

Funny story actually, i was on Wigs' longboard just going down this "downward slope" at the school, which i do almost everyday on my board, and when i got to the bottom, it just slipped out, and i fell down, wasn't much i could do about it either, as i was carrying my board in my arm, so it kinda hurt when i hit the ground.

I learned the ollie first of course, Then I moved onto kickflips and 180's after about 2 months I was getting s*** kickflips and I had mastered the ollie at a ok hight and 180's. Then I moved onto Verial flips and shovit and heelflips. The manuals and so on.

Of course it wasnt the first trick I learnt, pppppointless I say.
It took me 3 weeks to learn to ollie (first trick apart from pivots....) then did pop shove-it which i didnt learn....i just, um, discovered I could do it i guess. Took me 3 weeks to learn to kicklfip (and darn painful weeks at that, darn board kept beating me up)....it wasnt until after 3 years of skating (last summer at cardigan skate park) until I could really KICKFLIP, as in a REAL kickflip with awesome height and control....wish i could do it now got to get back on that one.
Wow...so easy to forget the point, i know someone who did learn to kickflip as his first trick...he impressed everyone around until they all found out to their disappointment that it was utterly pointless learning to kickflip first...
