My main problem with my skateboards is that the trucks always end up 'bending' one way or the other. I can't quite trace the problem for myself but I think the bushings are to blame. Is this normal?
I'm sick of my board always wanting to turn. Can I fix it?

Also, from the amount of times I've tried to fix the problem, I always end up knackering the nut on the kingpin. This isn't strictly a skateboard problem (I imagine it happens to anything else using nuts and bolts), but I was wondering how you people avoided it... or am I just too keen to 'fix' my board?

Thanks

Hmmm, I don't think that if your board turns a bit when you let it roll by itself is much of a problem. But it's probably the bushings that wore out unevenly. Replace them and see if it helps, they are very cheap and you could try buying 2-3 sets with different hardness and see if that has anything to do with it.

Just put the foot which you keep on the board when pushing slightly to one side... that's what everyone else does :)

My God that sentence sounded awful. Sorry.

I read about this problem in a skate magazine. Apparently, due to the rising demand for skate stuff in the last few years, manufacturers have had to 'rush' stuff out, and it seems that trucks have been hit the worst. When I bought my Ventures, I can get my skate-wrench on one kingpin, but the hangar overhangs the other kingpin. They are not symmetrical, nor do the skate the same. Unfortunately it's pot luck whether or not you get good trucks, obviously the name makes a difference ie not Silver, but there will be unexplicable defects in certain things, just due to supply not being able to keep up with demand. Did that make sense??

Check your pivot cup rubbers, as they can spin your board out if they are worn. Your board could be warped too. Take the trucks off and lay it on a flat surface, and imperfections will be obvious. Other than that, its a case of grin and bear it dude!!

Perhaps you should just ignore it, that helps me with all of my mystery problems. Just pretend it's not there.

I think it sucks that a skate company would rush a product out to the public just to get more money knowing full well that they could have done a better job on the product.

Totally Dave, it sucks big time. At least decks were not affected, seeing as they are the most expensive part! Decks have actually got better in my opinion!

I find it doesnt matter if it rolls to 1 side when u let it roll by itself. coz when your on it u tend to balance it out naturally which is all good!
