2003 was the year that the
world discovered the real Jackass.
The 'Camp Kill Yourself' crew is well known for their
antics on MTV's "Jackass", but before there
was Jackass, there was CKY. Featuring one of the hottest
skaters around, Bam Margera, and his merry band of hooligans,
the CKY series has become one of the hottest selling skate
titles in history! Filled with crazy antics, hilarious
skits, and amazing skate footage, mixed with driving music
from HIM & CKY the band! Landspeed, the original -
"Shopping Karts" and "Hill Billy Bowling"
Documentary - Early footage, before CKY! Skits: "How
to rob a house," "truck jumping" and "cap'n
undies" CKY2K - Infamous Iceland *#%@ Incident"
CKY3 - Amazing skate footage by Tony Hawk, mike Maldonado,
Arto Saari and Kerry Getz
The CKY DVDs from Bam Margera started the craze that led
to three MTV series, a feature film and a host of worldwide
imitators.
But by then everyone knew that CKY was the original hardcore
template featuring the stunts and gags that MTV weren't
allowed to show.
To end the year of CKY the ultimate collector's edition
was being released. All three parts of the CKY Trilogy
featuring the cast of Jackass at their most depraved and
a free limited edition poster are released in a special
twin DVD pack for the superb value price of £24.99
- time to become a believer.....

Some History ...
CKY is the original Jackass, going further than MTV ever
dared - in the show that started it all, the Jackass cast
lay waste to suburban America leaving a trail of carnage
in their wake: burning towns, wrecked automobiles, unlimited
amounts of excrement, explosions, fights, broken limbs,
experiments with body waste at high speed, outrageous
skating, fat suits, shopping cart duels, huge falls, bizarre
skits and nudity while a shocked, outraged public suffer
at the hands of the most demented lunatics to ever get
a peak time TV show. And CKY said unto MTV, 'Yes, we
will water down what we do into a mediocre show and
make you a fortune, but we'll always know where our
heart doth lie, beware the coming of CKY '
The History: In 1998, two years before Jackass began,
pro-skater Bam Margera and fellow lunatics began to
commit to video some truly disgusting stunts. Veterans
of insane tumbles and broken bones in their careers
as professional skaters, they were soon hurling themselves
off roofs, urinating on each and terrorizing the general
public. Bam edited the videos together under the name
CKY, and the title instantly became a massive US cult
hit.
Future Jackass cohort - Johnny Knoxville had been a
wannabe skater as long as he could remember but was
too appalling to attempt any public display, so spent
his time filming other skaters instead. Music video
director Spike Jonze introduced Knoxville to Bam and
they soon became firm friends. Knoxville, inspired by
Bam began to film his own stunts.
TV executives the world over were raving about CKY
but realised that it would have to be tamed down for
mainstream TV. MTV outbid everyone for the chance to
sign up the CKY crew and Knoxville, rebranding it Jackass.
Before anyone could draw breath they had a worldwide
hit on their hands, though somewhat diluted and with
less excrement and injury than the CKY originals. |
