Rock To Fakie

this is a simple trick that is used as the basis of most tricks on ramp or vert. The trick to it is all in your balance and your weight.

1: Approach the ramp in your usual stance.

2: Ride up the ramp wall, at the copgin, push your front truck over so you are sort of pivoting on the belly of your deck (the rock), your weight should be slightly pushed towards the nose of your board, and you should be standing over the board (upright, not leaning back). Note that you dont have to get your whole deck over the coping, only try a little one at first, but dont make it too small or your front truck will clip on the way back.

3: (The tricky bit) To slide your deck back down the ramp, you must push slightly on your tail, as you start sliding, get ready to lift your nose a bit. Don't pop out (that's important) just lift your nose enough to clear the coping. then just ride away clean and smooth (fakie)

hope it helps...

Hi there,

good tips on the rock fakie ! Just thought I'd add my own tip if ya don't mind.

I find that the trick to a good rock fakie is once you have got the board up onto the coping LOOK at the coping this helps keep your weight centered over the board and helps you gauge when you've cleared the coping.

I also find it helps to relax and just try it out remember skating is all about having fun !

Keep shreddin dudes

Later

Rob

Personally i tend to avoid this trick for a few reasons:

One its really not very good and especially for getting speed.

Two who needs to rock to fakie when you can air to fakie, Boneless to fakies are nicer than early grabs to fakie in my opinion.
